ABOUT SUMMIT RIDGE

We built Summit Ridge on one belief: the best leadership development comes from people who have actually led — not just studied it.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

At Summit Ridge Leadership, we help leaders perform when it matters most.

Founded by Army veteran Ryan Hill, Summit Ridge brings over 20 years of leadership experience from combat zones to corporate transitions — including global leadership development at a Fortune 500 mining company, consulting across the construction industry, and coaching leaders in fast-moving tech environments.

We specialize in leadership consulting, workshops, and executive coaching that build trust, strengthen execution, and align teams around what matters most.

Our mission is simple: equip leaders to lead — not just when things are smooth, but when it counts.

Ryan Hill Founder of Summit Ridge Leadership

Ryan Hill

Founder | iPEC Certified Coach |Executive MBA | M.Ed

"I spent 20 years in the United States Army, including multiple combat deployments where the quality of leadership had real consequences. That experience shapes everything about how I approach this work — what actually builds trust, what creates accountability, and what holds up when pressure is highest."

After leaving the Army I took that standard into the corporate world. At FMI I led one of the largest leadership development programs in the construction industry. At Newmont, the world's largest gold mining company, I built and scaled leadership programs reaching over 25,000 employees globally. I have also led organizational development work at a high-growth technology company through a major public transition.

I hold an Executive MBA from the University of Denver, a Master of Education from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University. I am a Certified Professional Coach from iPEC.

I live in Colorado with my wife and two kids. Outside of work I am a classically trained chef and spend as much time as possible in the mountains — cycling, running, and hiking.

ASSESSMENT TOOLS

The right tool at the right time changes everything

We use evidence-based assessment tools that give leaders and teams actionable insight — not a personality label to hang on the wall. Every assessment we use is integrated into a larger process. The goal is never just awareness. It is behavior change.

Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument Profile Report

TKI — Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument

Conflict is not the problem. Unmanaged conflict is. The TKI identifies how individuals default to handling conflict — and whether that default is serving them or costing them. In high-stakes industries where tension between crews or departments is a daily reality, understanding conflict styles is an operational advantage.

Best used for: teams where conflict is affecting performance, manager development, difficult conversation coaching, and culture diagnostics.

Insights Discovery

Most communication problems are style problems. Uses a simple, memorable color-based model to help leaders understand how they naturally communicate, make decisions, and respond under pressure — and how to flex that style for greater impact with the people around them. Gives people a shared language they can apply immediately on the jobsite.

Best used for: team communication improvement, manager and team alignment, conflict reduction, and leadership presence development.

Custom 360-Degree Feedback

Most feedback tools are generic. Ours are not. Collects input from the people who work with a leader every day and surfaces a clear picture of how that leader actually shows up. Built fully customized around your organization's actual leadership competencies and values — not a generic report that could apply to anyone.

Best used for: executive team development, leadership pipeline identification, post-program accountability, and succession planning.

How we use assessments

  • We do not hand someone a report and call it development. Every assessment we use is integrated into a larger process.

  • We start by understanding what you are trying to solve. We select the right tool for that problem.

  • We manage the process to protect confidentiality and maximize the quality of the data. We debrief every participant personally — translating results into clear priorities, not just delivering a score. And we connect the findings directly to coaching, team sessions, or development programs so the insight actually changes how people lead.

  • An assessment without integration is just an interesting document. We make it useful.
